About the Bakery + Cafe

Now located on Melbourne’s most iconic strip, Chapel st South Yarra, Rustica was established in 2012 in Fitzroy by Founder and renowned Baker, Brenton Lang. Delivering artisan breads and pastries baked using traditional sourdough techniques, the bustling Brunswick Street location has fast become one of the most successful and recognised bakery-cafes in Melbourne

Our brand new 500 square meter warehouse on Chapel st, has taken the title as Rustica’s flagship location. Here can you watch the theatrics of our bakers, pastry chefs and chefs at work in a light filled, open warehouse. Throughout the day grab a meal from our breakfast/brunch menu, or treat your taste buds to a sourdough pizza, beef short rib and more after 5pm.

With a focus on supporting sustainable farming practices, each dish is made using fresh local produce from Spade & Barrow, Laucke flour and meat from local butchers Largo. From savoury croissants to delicious espresso tarts, everything at Rustica is prepared, baked or cooked on site.
