About the Bakery + Cafe
Located in the culinary heart of Fitzroy, Rustica Sourdough was established in 2012 by Founder and renowned Baker, Brenton Lang. Delivering artisan breads baked using traditional sourdough techniques, this bustling Brunswick Street location has fast become one of the most successful and recognised bakery-cafes in Melbourne.
Through the combined talents of Rustica Sourdough’s Brenton Lang, celebrated Head Chef Tristan White and Restaurant Founder Matt Vero, Rustica Canteen was born. Nestled in Melbourne’s CBD, Hawthorn’s Power Street and the Rialto Towers, each Rustica location serves up contemporary dishes, breads and pastries made with the finest locally sourced ingredients.
With a focus on supporting sustainable farming practices, each dish is made using fresh local produce from Spade & Barrow, Laucke flour and meat from local butchers Largo. From savoury galettes to delicious espresso tarts, everything at Rustica Sourdough is prepared, baked or cooked on site using time honoured techniques.
As each location features it’s own distinct flair, our customised menus reflect the heritage and feel of some of Melbourne’s most unique suburbs.
